Liquid Filling Solutions for Unique Products

filamatic liquid filling solutions

There are unique liquid filling solutions available for unique products, such as molten waxes and balms.

For most manufacturers, finding the best method for your filling needs – the volume, level, net weight, or another method – will help you find which machine is best for your project. However, some unique products and fluids require more research and care before determining the best solution. If you need to fill any of the following unique liquid products, the liquid filling specialists at Filamatic can help you find the best filling system for your needs.

Molten Products

Molten products are those that are solid at room temperature but form a liquid when heated. The products are filled into their containers as a hot liquid and then allowed to cool to their molten state after the fill is complete. The correct filler for these products will ensure that the product remains liquid until the fill is finished. Molten products include candles, deodorant, and lip balms.

Products with Particulates

Liquid products that contain particulates can cause problems in product pathways if put through the wrong filling machines. For example, a jam or jelly with large chunks of fruit can easily block tubing while the liquid and particulates are pulled into the waiting containers. Piston-filling machines, which use a wide cylinder to pull liquid products from bulk containers, provide a solution for dealing with large particulates. Other machines may work well with products that have smaller particulates that won’t cause a backup. In addition to jams or jellies, liquids with particulates include salad dressing, liquid soap, and sauces.

Corrosion Resistant Products

Most filling machines will be built using stainless steel as the primary construction material. However, some harsher chemicals may not interact well with stainless steel, which can cause corrosion and premature equipment breakdown. In those situations, the stainless steel construction can be replaced with plastic or HDPE (high-density polyethylene). Certain acids, bleaches, and other chemicals may call for this switch in machine material.
